John Jacobs is a Senior Technical Assistance Specialist at WestEd, where he provides professional learning, technical assistance, coaching, consultation, and develops research and evidence-based tools, guides, and comprehensive equity audits. John is a skilled facilitator in the areas related to culture & identity (e.g., race, ability, gender, social class) and an experienced collaborator who has worked to embed equity & cultural responsiveness throughout district and state level policies and programs.

Dr. Rebecca Colina Neri is a Senior Improvement Specialist at WestEd whose research integrates conceptual and pragmatic tools from asset-based frameworks (e.g., Culturally Sustaining Pedagogy, Funds of Knowledge) with Improvement Science methods to center the experiences of minoritized students and support practitioners in addressing the context-specific realities of the systems students navigate. Dr. Neri also worked as a mathematics educator and instructional coach for 12+ years across K-12 and community college contexts.

Andrea Browning is a Senior Policy Advisor on WestEd’s Culturally Responsive Systems team, through which she provides equity-focused professional learning and coaching for school, district and state education practitioners and policymakers. Her expertise spans social and emotional learning, personalized learning, systems change, and culturally responsive pathways to a well-rounded education. Andrea is the Director of the Engaging Equity partnership with ODE, which provides professional learning focused on equity for Oregon educators.

Krystal Wu joins us from the Resilient and Healthy Schools and Communities team at WestEd. Krystal uses a racial equity lens to design culturally responsive, joyful learning experiences. A former equity coach and instructional coach here in Oregon, she centers the wisdom and hope of young people in all of her work. Krystal also has over 10 years of experience as an award-winning secondary English Language Arts.
