Dr. Gustavo Balderas is the superintendent of Eugene School District 4J in Eugene, Oregon. He became the district’s 23rd superintendent in 2015.

Dr. Balderas began his life as the child of migrant farm workers in eastern Oregon and developed his love of learning and passion for education in Oregon public schools, from kindergarten through his doctoral degree in educational leadership at the University of Oregon.

Shelly Reggiani serves as the Executive Director of Equity and Instructional Services for the North Clackamas School District.  Instructional Services is the advocacy arm of instruction in North Clackamas and it is our role to be the voice for those who historically have not had a place at the educational decision-making table.

Students and families who have historically received the most marginalized from schools experience education differently than those in the dominant culture.  Race, language, culture, socio-economic status, gender and gender identity, sexual orientation, and (dis)ability each has played a role in how students and families access and are supported by our education system, and remain the leading indicators of who graduates and who does not.

Balanced by theory and practicality, Dr. Dickey delineates processes for aligning daily instruction with the nuanced expectations of the state standards and high-stakes summative assessments necessary to drive and sustain academic achievement in the core content areas.
