As Oregon moves forward with implementation of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), COSA has partnered with the Educational Excellence Group to provide training that will support teachers and administrators as they move forward with educator effectiveness by creating quality classroom assessments. The fall CCSS Regional Trainings are scheduled for:
Day 1: Administrators ONLY.
Day 2: Administrators & Secretaries attend together.

Sarah Drinkwater, Assistant Superintendent, Oregon Department of Education
Sarah Drinkwater, Ph.D., obtained her doctorate in special education, with an emphasis in early childhood, in 1988 from the University of Oregon. She worked as a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Washington in early childhood special education personnel preparation, and also taught at the University of Nevada, Reno, in the College of Education.
Dr. Embry is a scientist-entrepreneur who is president of PAXIS Institute in Tucson, AZ. He has developed large, population-level behavior-change projects and studies for injury control in New Zealand, violence prevention in America, military deployments during the Gulf War, and tobacco control in multiple states with experimental designs.
This morning’s September Revenue Forecast showed the slow, steady revenue growth that state economists had projected, for both the current biennium and for 2015-17.
State economist Mark McMullen estimated a gain of $70 million in general fund and lottery revenue for 2013-15, compared to the June forecast, and a gain of about $30 million for 2015-17.
The third year of the COSA-CUC Leadership Program began earlier this week, as a new group of teacher leaders entered the Initial Administrative Licensure (IAL) Program, and others continued in initial and continuing licensure, as well as doctoral programs.
All told, the COSA-CUC program successfully served 120 administrators and teacher leaders, from more than 100 districts, in its first two years.
