Salem, Oregon- The Coalition of Oregon School Administrators (COSA) rounded out its team by naming Dr. Raeshelle Meyer as new Director of Professional Learning. Dr. Meyer comes to COSA with a wealth of experience and strong partnerships across the state, particularly in small and rural communities.

This pre-conference session will explore how artificial intelligence, particularly generative AI, can be harnessed to create accessible learning environments through Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Participants will discover practical strategies for using AI to customize content, support diverse learning needs, and enhance student engagement.

Shifts in literacy instruction impact all educators regardless of content area. Beginning with a clear understanding of the body of evidence-based research on how students learn to read will provide educators with the necessary foundation from which to create a culturally responsive classroom conducive to growing ALL readers. Participants will discover the science behind learning to read and the art behind reading to learn.
Key Questions:
Review data and consider barriers that may have an impact on creating and maintaining a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment. Use findings to create intentional action steps to build and grow relationships within the learning community.
